NTA NEET 2024 SCAM: There have been allegations made by students regarding NEET 2024, alleging that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is involved in activities that are detrimental to students. These allegations include claims of uncertainty, lack of transparency, and clarity from NTA, as well as suspicions of cheating, lack of transparency regarding grace marks for time loss, and potential question paper leaks. These issues are seen as undermining the integrity of the examination process.
Scoring above 650 will not be enough to secure admission to a government medical college, leaving parents anxious about their children’s future. They are counting on the NTA to address the situation. The following article discusses the NEET 2024 Result Scam and the NTA’s clarification on the matter.
NTA NEET 2024 : Result Scam
Allegations of misconduct, question paper breaches, and unusual score distributions have raised questions about the integrity of the NEET 2024 examination. While the National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided assurances, there are lingering doubts about the fairness and credibility of the NEET 2024 results.
NTA NEET 2024 SCAM: Supporting Reasons
Some reasons that justifys that something unethical happened:
1. Result Declaration Date
The results were supposed to be announced on June 14th. Suddenly, on 4th June the NEET 2024 result released! We have never seen results come out ten days early. NTA announced previously that the NEET 2024 will be declared on 14th June of 2024. But they released the result on 4th june 2024 without any single notice. The NTA claimed we should appreciate them for releasing the results early, which we would have if the results were transparent.
2. Unusual Series in NEET 2024 Merit List
In the NEET 2024 Merit List, it’s found that 6-7 students came from the same examination centre in Haryana. All of them have scored 720 marks that is the full marks of NEET. This unusual pattern has sparked speculation about a coordinated cheating scheme or a potential breach in the NEET 2024 exam process.
It is found that many students in the merit list have the similar numbers in their enrollment number. it means these students were either in the same room or in adjacent rooms. All these students have the same initial number, so they are from the same center. The center in question is in Jhajjar, Haryana, where all these students scored 720 out of 720. This raises questions and makes the situation complicated. Students started questioning how eight students from the same center could all score 720 out of 720. If we calculate the probability of this happening. The probability is one in a hundred million years.

3. Students having unfair marks
In the NEET exam, for the first time, a student scored 719 and another scored 718 marks. In this exam, you get 4 marks for a correct answer, and you lose 1 marks for a wrong answer. So, if a student answers all questions correctly, they get 720 marks. Let’s say a student leaves one question unanswered; they get 716 marks because they didn’t get the four marks for that question. If they answered one question incorrectly, they would lose 4 marks plus an additional 1 mark, totaling 715. So, the scores can be either 720, 716, or 715. How is it possible for someone to score 719 or 718?
NTA said that Some centers faced a loss of time for the students, so the NTA has provided grace marks to those students this time. We have used the concept of normalization, which was decided by the Supreme Court. This is all that has happened so far; more details will come later. Now, the question arises: Why did you introduce grace marks for the first time in the past few years? Every year, there are many centers where students face time loss or get the wrong paper. What do we do there? We conduct reexaminations, provide extra time, or replace the paper. In the past eight years, we never received marks in exchange for time. So, why this year? Another question is, if this was the first time in eight years that this happened, should this information have been provided before the results or along with them? When the noise started, you responded with such a reactive approach. Shouldn’t you have informed us earlier? We have now disclosed that we provided grace marks, which resulted in scores like 718 and 719. But it wasn’t mentioned how many of these were from 2020. The reply didn’t specify that only some were from 2020; it simply stated 718 and 719. This could lead people to think that only a few students received grace marks.
4. Grace Marks for Loss of Exam Time
The NTA claimed to have given grace marks to students whose centers had issues, resulting in scores of 719 and 718. Typically, students get 4 marks for a correct answer and lose 1 mark for a wrong one, so scores like 718 or 719 don’t make sense. Eight students from the same center in Haryana scored 720. The probability of this happening is once in a million years.
The situation worsened as people started questioning the fairness. NTA finally responded, stating they had given grace marks to 1,563 students from certain centers in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Chhattisgarh. However, they didn’t disclose how many grace marks were given. They admitted six students reached 720 due to grace marks but didn’t explain further.
Many students and parents are frustrated. For instance, a student from Bokaro scored 670 as per the provisional and final answer keys but got 651 in the results, drastically changing their rank and college prospects. This creates immense pressure and uncertainty about their future.
NTA’s response raises questions about transparency and fairness. If they gave grace marks to 1,563 students, why did so many 720 scores come from just one center? What about other states? How was the loss of time verified? These irregularities create doubt and affect students’ futures.
NTA have given grace marks to 1563 students across four states: Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Chhattisgarh. Two major questions arise again. First, there is no list of the 1563 students. I don’t have the enrollment data. Second, you mentioned “few centers” in four states. How many centers exactly? If I pick more than one center from each of the four states or at least two from each state, that would total up to six or eight centers. So, I picked one center from each state. They used the word “few,” so let’s assume there are five centers. In each center, there are at least 400 students, making it a total of 2000 students. Secondly, now you are giving marks to 1500 students. Another thing is, you said grace marks were given in the centers of the four states, but you didn’t mention how many marks were given. It’s okay; you could have also mentioned the name of the centers for transparency. Another issue is that 720 marks were achieved by only six students. Are these students from the same center in one state? Shouldn’t students from other states be on this list too if grace marks were given, and you gave it to 1563 students? Because if there were 1563 students, the ranks wouldn’t be so far apart.
5. No. of Toppers in NEET 2024
We found that many students scored 720 out of 720. This wasn’t the first time that sometimes one, two, or three students scored full marks. NTA has been conducting the NEET exam since 2016. This time, it was revealed that 67 students scored 720 out of 720, which shocked us. Was the paper so easy that everyone scored full marks?
NTA said that the competitive nature and hard work of the students resulted in higher marks. But we were still in shock. Later, NTA released a list of the top 100 students who scored 720 out of 720. Usually, they only release the top 100 ranks.
6. Increase in Cutoff Marks
This year, the cutoff marks increased dramatically. Last year, a score of 700 ranked 350, but this year it ranked 2300. A score of 640 used to guarantee a government medical college seat, but now it ranks 10,000. How could the paper be easier if the analysis showed it was comparable to last year, with the physics section being slightly harder?
7. Cheating Found in NEET 2024
The police FIR lodged on May 4th mentions the NEET paper leak, both burned and unburned papers found. Alongside, when you received the papers, they have arrested 13 people in Patna, indicating some irregularities. It was widely covered by the media, and the first copy of the FIR stated the NEET paper leak. Three days later, media reports began to retract their statements due to unknown pressures. Everyone wrote that they couldn’t confirm the leak. We will compare this paper with the original NEET paper. It’s already June, and it took a month to compare. Give me 20 minutes; I’ll compare both papers and let you know if they match. It is also found that the NEET 2024 exam paper was posted on many telegram channels before NEET 2024 examination.
8. Issue With College Counseling
NTA issued the results, and a list of 100 students is made public. We also saw it and it was fine. It means from rank 1 to 67, everyone has rank 1 written next to their names. There is another rank that is also mentioned in the result which is emailed to the students, similar to how they send the OMR copy that the student filled. Each student’s result mentions their rank as 1 and another rank called counseling rank which is in decimals, like 1.24, 1.34, up to 1.67. So, in reality, this is the rank based on which counseling will happen. But we have a question about this. If everyone has scored 720 marks, then on what basis are the ranks different? They justify this by saying that the rank is based on the date of birth, giving a better rank to the candidate who is older because they have put in more effort and might be more frustrated. I feel that a young student should wait until they get older to give the exam to get a better rank. Anyway, It was that 67 students scored full marks, and these 67 students, who we all know are aiming for the top medical college in India, which everyone acknowledges as AIIMS Delhi. If I take a specific group like the General category, there are around 46 seats. It means these 67 students cannot all get into AIIMS Delhi. Now, there is a student who scored 720 marks, is asking why they are not getting into AIIMS Delhi. What is their fault? How was this decision made? What should we tell them, that the decision was made by tossing a paper? We have no justification.
Conclusion
The NEET exam should be a test of rejection because it is a competitive exam, and there are very few seats available. They have made it an exam of selection. Their thinking is that by making the paper easy, more students will score high, which will increase competition. Today, if a student scoring 640 cannot get into a government medical college. Previously, at 700 marks, the rank was around 350, and this year at 700 marks, the rank is around 2300. This made me realize how high the cutoff has gone. Students have worked very hard. Was the paper very easy?
