NIRF Ranking 2024 : The Higher educational institutes are listed under 13 categories — Overall Universities , medical, engineering, law, architecture, colleges, research institutions, pharmacy, dental agriculture and allied sectors and innovation.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework in (NIRF) is a methodology adopted by the ministry of education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. The ranking are based on various parameters, including:
- Teaching, learning and resources (TLR)
- research and professional practice (RP)
- graduation outcomes (GO)
- Outreach an inclusivity (OI)
- Perception (PR)
NIRF Ranking 2024 : NIRF Overall Ranking List 2024
the Indian institution of technology Madras has continued is dominant in the latest edition of the National institute ranking teamwork retaining as the number one institution of the country in the overall and engineering categories.
The IIT have this year to dominated the top 10 ranking in the overall category. Our education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced IIT Madras ranked 1 in the overall categories.
“IIT Madras also bagged the first position in engineering for the 8th year in a row.”
The Second position has been grabbed by the Indian institute of science IISc, Bangalore, followed by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi , IIT Kanpur at the third fourth and the fifth place respectively. IIT Kharagpur got the 6th place followed by AIIMS Delhi at 7th IIT Roorkee and IIT Guwahati at the 8 and 9 spots the 10th spot bagged by JNU New Delhi.
NIRF Ranking 2024 : New categories and Criteria Changes
This year in NIRF introduced 3 new categories ‘Open University’ , ‘Skill University’ and ‘State funded’ Government universities. The ranking framework evaluates institution across 16 categories including overall universities engineering, management , medical and law among others. the frame of considered five broad parameters teaching learning and resources. Additionally the evolution criteria has been updated which changes to the faculty to student ratio which has been adjusted from 1:15 to 1:10 in medical institutes and increase to 1:20 in state government Universities.
