NEET-UG 2025 CBT MODE :- According to a satement of Times of India , NEET UG exams is likely to be conducted through a computer-based test (CBT) mode or online mode from the next session.

Many incidents happened this year in The NEET UG exams, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) like malpractice, including paper leaks, cheating, and cases of impersonation.These incidents was highlighted by an ongoing CBI investigation, have become a major topic of debate in the Supreme Court. It badly affected the future of 24 lakh students who appeared for the exam.To prevent this next year, the Radhakrishnan Committee, established following the NEET paper leak, has proposed several recommendations to the NTA. Among them is a phased transition to online testing by computer.It will be more secure then paper-based exams and the transparency will be alo maintained.

NEET-UG 2025 CBT MODE : Dharmendra Pradhan’s statement

In an interview with TOI, Dhramendra Pradhan revealed that efforts are underway to build a consensus involving the Ministry of Health, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and a newly established third-party monitoring group . Which will led by former ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan. This group will help NTA by providing guidance and oversight, to ensure a secure and transparent examination process.

According to a article of Times of India Pradhan said that, “We have initiated the implementation of the committee’s recommendations. A monitoring group has been established to provide ongoing advice and oversight to the NTA, functioning as an independent watchdog.”

Regarding NEET, he emphasized that “the Ministry of Health is our main client and is being consulted for its input. The NTA will conduct the examination, utilizing both paper-based and computer-based testing options. Following discussions with the ministry, the committee, and the NTA, it appears that we are likely moving towards computer-based testing.

The committee has proposed a hybrid model to improve the security and transparency of the examination process.

According to this model

  • Question papers would be securely transmitted to examination centres in digital form
  • Ensure enhanced protection against unauthorized access.

At the centres, students would write their answers on paper, maintaining familiarity with the traditional response format while benefiting from the added security of digital delivery.

This approach aims to any tackle key vulnerabilities in the existing system, particularly those linked to the printing, storage, and transportation of physical question papers. By significantly reducing the need for physical handling, the proposed model aims to mitigate risks such as question paper leaks and tampering. This would help establish a more secure transparent and reliable examination framework ensuring greater fairness and integrity for hightakes exams like NEET.
