CLAT 2025 Registration Opens 15th July : Check All Details Now

CLAT 2025 notification: The consortium of National Law University (NLUS) has released a short notice for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025.

As per the official schedule, The online application process for CLAT 2025 will be begin on July 15, and interested candidate can apply online until October 15, 2024. The exam will be held on 1st December, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (2:00 to 4:40 for PWD candidates).

CLAT 2025 : Eligibility Criteria

For the undergraduate programme (5 years integrated law degree) are:-

  • Candidate are required to have purse the class 12 or equallend exam with.
  • 45% marks or an equivalent greade for general candidate.
  • 40% marks or an equivalent grade for Schedule Caste(SC) , Schedule Tribe(ST) , and Person with Disabilities Candidate (PWD).

Candidates appearing from the qualifying exam in March or April 2025 are also eligible to apply for the postgraduate program (1 year LLM degree ) candidate must have an LLB degree or an equivelent exam with:

  • 45% marks or its equivalent grade for general candidate.
  • 40% marks or it’s equivelent great for schedule cast(SC) schedule tribe(ST) and person with disabilities candidates (PWD)

Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in April , May 2025 are also eligible to apply.

CLAT 2025 : Exam Pattern

CLAT is a pen-and-paper based offline exam conducted for a duration of two hours (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) (2 :00 pm to 4: 40pm for PwD candidate) .The Common Law Admission Test is a centralized national-level entrance test for admissions to the 25 out of 27 National Law Universities except NLU Delhi and NLU Meghalaya. The exam tests candidates’ knowledge and skills in various legal and non-legal areas.

The specific weightage for each section may vary slightly year-on-year, but generally, the exam pattern is as follows:

CLAT 2025 : Legal Reasoning

This section assesses the candidate’s comprehension of legal principles, their ability to analyze legal situations, and apply legal knowledge to solve problems.

CLAT 2025: Selection Process

The selection process for CLAT 2025 is multi-stage:

  • Stage 1: Written Exam: Candidates who qualify in the written exam (held on December 1, 2024) will be shortlisted for the next stage.
  • Stage 2: Counselling: Shortlisted candidates will participate in a counselling process where they will be required to choose their preferred National Law Universities (NLUs) ( except Delhi NLU and Meghalaya NLU) based on their rank and seat availability.
  • Stage 3: Document Verification: During counselling, candidates must provide original documents for verification to confirm their eligibility on their wished NLU.

CLAT 2025 : Skills Need For Apply For NLU

  • Quantitative Techniques: This section assesses the candidate’s mathematical ability, data interpretation skills, and ability to analyze numerical data.
  • Current Affairs including General Knowledge : This section tests the candidate’s awareness of current events, national and international issues, social, political, economic, and scientific developments.
  • Legal Aptitude: This section assesses the candidate’s inherent understanding of legal concepts, legal terminology, and basic principles of jurisprudence.
  • English Language: This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in English language, including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.

With all of the above skills interested candidates can apply for NLU ( EXCEPT Delhi and Maghalaya).
